Koreans Stressed Over Marriage Money

Not their own marriages, though — their friends’ and coworkers’.

Ahead of the springtime wedding season, a survey has found that men and women in their 20s and 30s are feeling the burden of paying congratulatory money.

On the 15th the marriage information agency 가연 announced the results of its nation-wide telephone survey of 372 unmarried adults (180 men, 192 women), conducted from the 4th through the 13th, on the culture of congratulatory money. The survey found that 74% of respondents, or 275 people, said they feel it is a burden for them.
