A candlelight vigil opposing the full resumption of U.S. beef imports ended peacefully Tuesday after a Catholic group performed mass.

Thousands of citizens and members of the Catholic Priests’ Association for Justice held a candlelight vigil for the second day in Seoul Plaza on Tuesday evening, starting at 6:30.

Participants then marched through the streets until 8 o’clock, made their way to Seoul Plaza around nine, and voluntarily dispersed from there.

During the rallies, priests and nuns of the Catholic group held lilies in their hands as they marched down the street in a symbol of peace and silence.

The Catholic group, meanwhile, continued their sit-in strike and hunger strike for the second day on Tuesday. The group said it will continue the strikes until the government admits its wrongdoings in handling the beef dispute.
